Was I charged twice? Duplicate charge troubleshooting

If you see two charges on your card statement when you only meant to buy once, here's what's happening — and how to sort it out fast.

Most often, it's an "authorization hold" plus the actual charge

When you check out, your bank momentarily reserves the funds — you'll see a pending charge appear right away. The actual charge then settles a moment later. For a brief window (sometimes a few minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours depending on the bank) you may see what looks like two charges. One of them — the pending one — drops off and you only end up paying once.

The fastest way to confirm: wait 24 hours. If only one charge remains, you're fine.

If both charges actually settle

That's a duplicate, and we'll refund the extra one immediately.

Email support@thevessel.io with:

  • The email address you used at checkout
  • The date you purchased
  • The course you intended to buy
  • The two amounts you see on your statement

You'll usually have order numbers in your past Vessel emails — those help. If you don't, the email + amount is enough for us to find both transactions in our system.

We refund duplicate charges the same business day. Your bank will show it back on your card within 3–5 business days.

We don't ever charge twice on purpose. If we did, we made a mistake — say so and we'll fix it.
